Well, you see, based on the nine years or so I've been on this mailing
list, I've always believed this *was* the announce list. It's only
recently that people seem to have decided to frequently use it for
general Q&A, irrelevant spam, and general sysadmin chattiness.

Which is why I didn't think it belonged on this list...
