BayLISA December meeting (this thursday)

Let all your friends in the network center know -- if there's ever an
easiest time to hear what's going on among BayLISA sysadmins, it would
be December, when the talks are Short But Cool, and then we have a few
tales afterwards to enjoy, about generally being the right jolly elf
who plugs the network hubs back in when they get unplugged.

  Join us at 7:30 pm
...arriving earlier is fine; give yourself time to avoid getting
	lost, and to park.

It's our very first time at the new site:
Apple Campus / De Anza Building 3
please note this is *not* 3 infinite loop, nor is
it "Town Hall" (4 infinite loop). But if you see
those you went a little too far into the campus,
though you're at the correct one; the building you
wanted was to the left before the Loop.
	10500 De Anza

We have a number of juicy Short But Cools being offered:
-- Vicki Bennet, an area recruiter, on certification and how
it affects getting a job these days
-- Am I Hot Redux; yep, it's still hot, it's even got money.
-- Automated Linux installs using PXE, network booting
-- Knoppix: instant workstation, just add a PC

If you've got a Cool topic worth 5 to 15 minutes, don't be afraod to
bring it along... we'd love to see it.

Then, we get down to the nitty gritty; real tales of trouble we've
solved, perhaps in surprising ways and with a few not-so-innocent
names protected for their privacy. Often amusing and always a
  learning experience.

Besides we'll have the usual array of snacks and sodas to enjoy.
If that's not enough, though, a batch of us will adjourn to one
of the local restaurants that's open late. We'll have some pretty
  good choices to pick from.
