Cables: to label or not to label....that is the flamewar

Each end was labeled with a vendor installed label at both ends.

The number was split in 3 parts, a number for the color/type (just
in case someone couldn't tell the colors apart), a number for the 
length and serial number.

Ahh, I found some old notes, 51-004-10101 is 4 foot
black cross over cable number 100101.

I agree, no label is better than wrong label.

Hmm, need to update address that is subscribed to the list.
