Hi all,

First, an update on this Thursday's BayLISA general meeting. Please
RSVP at http://www.meetup.com/BayLISA/events/19067941/ if you're
coming so we can plan refreshments and seating. (If you don't RSVP,
you're still welcome, but we may not have enough chairs or pizza for
you.)

As seen on the Meetup page and Baylisa.org:

John Masci of Coraid will be talking about ATA over Ethernet in the
context of datacenter IP storage, the benefits it offers over Fiber
Channel and iSCSI for performance and management, and Coraid's unique
technology in this area.

James Thomason of Gale Technologies will be speaking on SysAdmins in
the Post-Cloud Era. James Thomason is the CTO of Gale Technologies,
a provider of orchestration and automation software for creating
cloud-like infrastructures.

Thanks to Coraid for sponsoring this month's meeting. Please talk with
their representatives about their Ethernet SAN offerings, and thank
them for their generous support of BayLISA.

Second, we need your help. We on the board are always looking for
speakers and topics and themes for upcoming BayLISA meetings.

But we have at least 500 people who read these mailing lists or are
registered with our Meetup page. Most of you have connections that
could lead to very productive future meetings. Got a SE who really
knows her or his stuff? A vendor whose technology has made your life
easier and your profit-sharing more profitable? An area of technology
you want to learn but can't get your company to send you to training
for? Let us know.

The board of directors has been running a bit short-handed this year,
and we're trying to make the best experiences possible for our members
and guests. If we're going to make the meetings work for you, we need
to know what you want from your organization. So take a moment and
send in a suggestion, or a referral, whether it's for speakers,
sponsors, or both. You can email me directly at rnovak at indyramp.com or
send your suggestion to blw at baylisa.org, and we'll see what we can do
to act on the recommendations that come in.

A side benefit of helping us find speakers is that you'll know farther
in advance who's speaking at the next BayLISA meeting, and even a
couple after that.

So do your part and help BayLISA be the best we can be.

Thanks, and hope to see you Thursday.

Robert Novak
BayLISA Secretary/Cheerleader
