BayLISA Elections : Call for candidate statements

BayLISA Election Staff elections at baylisa.org
Tue Oct 3 23:04:08 PDT 2006

Hi all,

Every year we hold elections for positions on the BayLISA board of
directors. This year is no exception and voting will occur in November. A
further email will be sent shortly with voting details.

The purpose of thie email is to solicit statements from those of you who
may be interested in running for board. As we've mentioned in the past,
it's a great experience, looks good on the resume, and teaches you skills
and discipline not always found in everyday sysadmin work.

This year there are two seats open for election. To be a BayLISA board
member all you need is to be a member in good standing of the organization
(you can join anytime up to election evening if you want to run/vote, see
http://www.baylisa.org/members/join.shtml), and to stand for election and
be elected by your peers.

We urge everyone to think about doing this. It takes very little of your
time; one evening a month (board meeting) and maybe a few hours of
cumulative time on top of that, plus of course the general meeting if you
choose to attend in a given month.

What we need from you at this point, to get your name on the ballot, is
a short candidate statement. Up to three or four paragraphs is plenty.
You should email this statement to baylisa at baylisa.org, so that everyone
knows who you are and why they should vote for you. Quite simple really.
We will also be posting the candidate statements on the website prior
to election night.

Please, support BayLISA, it really is worthwhile.

Thanks,

Election Staff
