Most central campus functions are hosted on Infrastructure Services equipment, and many departmental applications as well. *Responsibilities* The SA Manager 2 is responsible for the Unix and Windows SA teams within the central IT organization on campus. There are 16 employees in the area that are responsible for Windows, Linux and Solaris systems. There is a centralized virtualization team that is responsible for over 1500 VMs in the UCB Internal Cloud. Work is also being done to host systems in the Amazon cloud space. Involves serving as the technical administrator for hardware, operating systems, and network management. Plans and coordinates the installation, configuration and testing of hardware and software components. Work may involve central or departmental computer systems and networks. Includes web systems administration. The incumbent will work with other technical and functional leaders on campus and at other institutions to propose, develop and deliver services and projects that provide system Administration solutions. In addition, this position will be responsible for vendor management and relations on multi-million dollar projects. This will take a significant amount of design, negotiating and planning. The position will have responsibility for budgets (including proposals) and financial performance. This position will be responsible to manage the portfolio of projects approved by the governance process and provide resource forecasts, timing and budget updates to the governance committee, sponsors and campuses. The incumbent will ensure adequate forecasting of technical resources and accountability for overall team assignments and deliverables for operational and project development activities. Assignments will be made to represent the priorities of the governance group *Required Qualifications* 5+years experience as a technology manager.
