The Synopsys Internet Enabled Services team is looking for an experienced Systems Administrator to assist us in migrating from  Solaris to Linux.  Join a team that deploys and manages a diverse set of technologies: web infrastructure, code management, software development and production application environments, LSF, Grid and cloud based compute farms, classroom and lab environments, and more.  This position will provide solutions and support for our highly technical Customer Support, Application Development and Training organizations, and works closely with various engineering teams. 

Define, design, and implement system configurations and solutions.  Propose and implement system enhancements (software and hardware updates) that will improve system scalability, performance and reliability.  Manage system monitoring tools and make recommendations for purchase or upgrade of systems.  This position also participates in rotational on-call support duties.
Desired Skills & Experience

5+ years of relevant experience.  Job candidates should be proficient in all aspects of Linux & Solaris systems Administration. (NIS, DNS, NFS, Perl)  Experience with one or more compute farm technologies (LSF, SunGrid, or UGE) is a must, and experience with cloud computing is highly desirable.  Must have experience with one or more of the following storage technologies: NetApp, BlueArc, Hitachi.  Must have experience with virtualization on Linux.  Experience with Open Source technologies Lunix, Apache, MySql, Tomcat, is desirable.  Oracle is a plus.  Experience with Java, Akamai and/or Omniture is a plus.  Must have the ability to diagnose and resolve complex system issues.

This position requires strong interpersonal and communication skills along with the ability to multitask and solve problems.  Must be able to schedule, prioritize, accomplish R&D related activities and communicate actions and results as needed.
